Understanding Burnout and How to Avoid It

In this next installment of Synapse’s free Libate & Learn we will be discussing understanding burnout and how to avoid it.

As lines between work and home became even more blurred, rates of burnout have skyrocketed. Many employers are surprised to learn that engaged employees can still be at risk for burnout and turnover, which has a significant impact on your organization’s culture and bottom line. In this session you will learn more about what burnout is, and isn’t, how it relates to employee wellbeing, and what you can do as an employer and organization to identify, mitigate and prevent burnout for your employees.

Melissa E. Milanak, Ph.D.

Melissa Milanak, PhD, is the Director of InVista Sales & Strategic Partnerships at PAR, an organization dedicated to helping employers and mental health professionals alike strategically utilize assessments to improve decision making and augment best practices. InVista specifically focuses on developing solutions to promote workplace wellbeing, reduce burnout, turnover and mental health stigma, and to improve talent selection and retention. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, keynote speaker, and internationally recognized academic with expertise in sleep disorders, anxiety, trauma, and workplace wellbeing. She speaks and advises globally for organizations such as Barron’s Financial, Amundi, and the African CDC.
